Mothers Uncle and he seemed like an interesting character. Eda Marcks
was my Moms Aunt and I have a number of Christmas cards sent to the
family from "Uncle Percy" , the last dated 1942/43. I also have a
number of Photographs, a wedding announcement, and newspaper notices
 announcing the marriage.
If you are interested in any of this I can email copies.

  David,
I have five photos and perhaps eleven Christmas cards (earliest 1916, last from 1942/43). Most of the info I have seen that you have seems to coincide well with mine. Marriage date is off about a month but then maybe they ran off to get married then had to do it again for the family - who knows! I also see a difference in the middle name but he is definitely the same man, I even have an envelope with his address in Royal Oak Michigan from 1928. I know he stayed in touch with the Marcks and Hawthorne family after aunt Eda died in 1920.
I have attached one photo, will send some more over the next few days.

  David,
Attached are images of photos and an example of the Christmas cards Percy sent over the years. Percy and my great aunt Eda were married for 15 years and he continued to write at least at Christmas until 1943. I only have these few photos and one letter he sent.
I have very little information on aunt Eda. She had three sisters, Anna (my Grandmother) also born in Germany, Gertrude born in Germany, and Emma was born in Iowa I believe. She had a brother Raymond Marcks born in Iowa as well. Father Rudolph Herman Marcks, and mother Anna E. Lochelt, both of Germany
Hope some of this is of interest to you. If you would like higher quality images I can send them on CD or DVD.
  Stephen Perry
