I just got off the phone with John Dodson. You may remember him from his contacting me about Dr. Margaret Ives 3 years ago. He seemed to be interested in the paintings she had, and ended up buying two of them from the Duncans for $10,000. I wanted contact info on the Duncans, but he never did provide it, so I phoned him today, as the email was bouncing. I got to thinking about all this because Patti Schoedler recently emailed me, and we have been exchanging info on her family, and she mentioned Margaret Ives. Cory had told me she might be emailing me. Patti also mentioned you.
Anyway, John Dodson informed me that Donald and Donna Duncan had been killed in a car crash in Arizona a year ago Father's Day. This would have been June 2004. He said they were driving a Buick Rendezvous and Donna was driving, because Donald had been pretty beat up in another car accident a few months before, when a gust of wind or a storm blew them off the road. I looked in the SSDI and it didn't seem to check out at first, but it turns out they both died on 12 June 2003, so John just had the wrong year. Another case of someone (like Margaret) dying before I could talk to him. Sad...you may recall the Duncans lost their only son to a car accident in February 1981, the same month my brother was killed in a bus accident. They were both 15.
