I am so impressed by all the information you have. I am related, I think, through Elizabeth Leggett b: abt 1695 in West Farms, Westchester, NY. She married Thomas Davenport (1682-1759) after her sister Sarah Leggett, his first wife, died. Thomas had a total of twelve children with the two sisters. As you noted, Thomas's brother William Davenport married Sarah and Elizabeth's sister, Martha Leggett. The book I got this information from is Thomas Davenport and His Descendants published by Putnam County Historical Society, 1962, Cold Spring, NY. I don't know if you have seen this book (it is not written too well and is difficult to work with) but it does have a few items that may add a little to your information on the Leggett sisters. I will be pleased to share the information with you. Again, thank you for sharing your work. I will place it in the database so that others might benefit. -----Original Message----- From: Mldavenpo@aol.com [mailto:Mldavenpo@aol.com] Sent: Wednesday, June 26, 2002 12:59 PM To: david.leggett@fns.usda.gov Subject: Leggett Geneology Mr. Leggett I discovered your Leggett geneology information last evening on Ancestry.com and am very impressed with the level of detail and your meticulous use of source material. I am researching the Thomas Davenport line (husband of Sarah & Elizabeth Leggett) and appreciate the information on Gabriel Leggett (E-4) and family. I noticed that Ms. Keller sent you the reference for the Thomas Davenport book in April. You might like to know that a lot of the book has been scanned by the Lamoreaux family and is on their web site as indicated below. See articles starting with "Thomas Davenport Book" and then other entiries through page 24. They did not scan the entiire book but I think information you will find useful is included in the early chapters. I obtained a copy of the complete text from the Putnam County, NY Historical Society. http://www.mail-archive.com/lamoreaux-l@rootsweb.com/maillist.html#00239 Best regards, Miles Davenport Castle Rock, Colorado
