None of his children are in the household (seems a bit early for them all to have moved out); only his wife, mother-in-law and one Alfred Bailey, a boarder. The census also says that Addie had zero children, zero living. His 1916 obituary lists none of his three supposed children as survivors, and no grandchildren, only a sister and nieces and nephews. So Earl Leggett must be mistaken. Oscar and Addie had no children. But this family group likely may have existed and belong with another set of parents. Earl may be just confused as to which ones...so these children remain in the database, awaiting possible attachment to their proper parents, if found.

Newspaper clipping, undated (from Fort Wayne, IN)
Dies Suddenly on Way to New York
Oscar7 Coles Leggett, aged seventy years, senior member of the Banner Laundering Company, died Wednesday night at Utica, N.Y., according to word received yesterday by local relatives. Mr. Leggett was on his way to New York and except to state that the death was sudden the message gave no further details.
Mr. Leggett had been in his usual health and news of his death comes as a shock to Fort Wayne relatives and friends. He had been absent for several months visiting eastern cities. He was the son of the late Dr. Samuel141-g6Le7 Mott Leggett, of Detroit, Mich., and had been a resident of Fort Wayne for twenty years. He was highly successful as a business man.
Surviving besides the widow, Mrs. Adelaide V. Leggett, of East Creighton avenue, are a sister, Julia139-g7Le7 Coles Whitehead, of Detroit, and several nephews and nieces. He was a member of the Trinity Episcopal church and Sol D, Bayless lodge No. 359, F.&A.M.
The body will be brought to Fort Wayne and will probably be taken to Lansing, Mich., for burial.
New York Times, Apr 28, 1916
OSCAR7 C. LEGGETT of Fort Wayne, Ind., a vaudeville musician, dropped dead on Wednesday in Utica, N.Y., while performing as a member of "The Old Soldier Fiddlers" at a military dinner. He was 73 years old.

I had his birthdate as 6 June 1848; unclear just now where that came from. All the above sources point to an earlier year, 1843-1846. The 1850 U.S. Census lists his age as 5, as of 1 June 1850, the official enumeration day, although the page lists the enumeration being actually done on 11 September. He would have indeed been still 5 on 1 June 1850, if he had been born 6 June 1844.
Of course, his parents were apparently married on 2 September 1844, so the poor fellow seems to be left a bastard here.
