a. Note:   tificate and immigration details were finally found on the Tasmanian Archives.
 George's birth registration was listed as GEORGE BEAUCANNON, so it's no wonder it took some time to find. George's parents are listed as John Beaucannon (Buchanan) (shoe & boot maker) and Matilda McGuinness. George Buchanan's birth certificate shows that George was born in Hobart, Tasmania on 14th of August 1852 (not at sea) as we were led to believe by his death certificate and obituary.
 John and Matilda's death certificates show that they both died in Victoria.

  George came to Victoria in November 1852 as a baby with his parents and 3 siblings on the ship "Clarence" from Launceston to Melbourne.
 Sometime before 1877 he must have left home and travelled to Narrandera, NSW as he married Agnes CONN there on 16 Oct 1877.
