a. Note:   Venice, FL - It is with great sadness that the family of Kay Rogers announces her passing on November 20, 2017 at Tidewell Hospice of Englewood, FL at the age of 74. Kay was fearless during her 6 month battle of metastatic cancer. She is survived by her Sisters Wanta Fincher and Vicki Singleton (Joe), brother Jim Rogers (Mary Doug) and daughters, Jennifer Keller (Bob) and Traci Clayton, and 4 grandchildren. Kay was predeceased by her mother and father, Janice and Hugh Rogers and her sister, Diane Borders.
  Kay was born in Selmer, TN on August 13, 1943 and was the oldest of five. She earned a BS from the University of Tennessee and an MS from Xavier University. Before retiring, she was a nursing home administrator for many years. She loved the residents and their families like her own. She had limitless energy and a green thumb, as shown by her bountiful vegetable and flower gardens. She was passionate about cooking and would teach anyone who would listen. She loved spending time with her 4 grandchildren doing all sorts of activities. Her favorite was Legofest.
  Kay will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by her family and life long friends.
