Note: Evelyn Hamm Holden, 82, died Saturday, Dec. 18, 1999, at a local hospital. Mrs. Holden was born Oct. 28, 1917, in Savannah, Ga. Mrs. Holden and her late husband, Mr. Philip F. Holden Sr., moved to Williamsburg from Raleigh, N.C., more than 20 years ago. Mrs. Holden was a member of Walnut Hill Baptist Church, and she loved to play bridge with the Kingsmill Bridge Club, she enjoyed water aerobics, boating, fishing and waterskiing.
Mrs. Holden is survived by her son, Philip H. Holden Jr. and wife, Beverly, of Palm Coast, Fla.; and daughter, Barbara H. Denkins and husband, Frank E. Denkins Jr., of Williamsburg; four grandchildren, Deborah Denkins, Lynn Ruck, Todd Denkins and Jason Holden; and six great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held in the Chapel of Bucktrout of Williamsburg, Tuesday, Dec. 21, 1999, at 2 p.m., with burial to follow in Williamsburg Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
