Note: Ernest Ross lived to a "ripe old age," but this was evidently not planned. According to the stories I was told, he was a hypochonridac, and numerous times claimed that he was going to die. My Aunt Renette told me that her father Ambrose (Ernest's brother) was once called to his brother's house. Ernest had evidently claimed that he was going to die and predicated the exact time this was going to happen. Ambrose is supposed to have sat at his brother's "death bed" with a stop watch in his hand and did a count down, constantly telling his brother how much time he had left. Unfortunately, the story ended there. I was never told what happened when the count down ended and Ernest was still alive and well.
