 died October 9, 1967, age 88 years. She is the widow of the late Ralph L. Lewis, of Alberta. She is survived by six daughters, Mrs. J. A. Brooks of Highland Springs, Va., Mrs. L. M. Gunn, Sr., of Richmond, Mrs. Roy M. Steele, of Balboa, Canal Zone, Mrs. E. F. Miller, of Mechanicsville, Mrs. G. W. Leiss, of Silver Springs, Md., and Mrs. Louise VanHouten, of Arlington, Va.; four sons, Mr. Ralph L. Lewis, of Alberta, Mr. E. W. Lewis, of Richmond, Mr. W. E. Lewis, of LaCrosse, and W. P. Lewis, of LaCrosse; 21 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Williams Funeral Home, Lawrenceville. Interment Alberta Cemetery.Richmond Times Dispatch (VA) Tues. 10-10-1967
  Katie Bell was the fourth of nine children born to Peter Henry Harrison Gunn and his wife, Molly. She had five sisters and three brothers. At the age of 18, she married Ralph Lorenzo Lewis.
 Katie was a small, thin woman, with a big heart and a laugh that was bigger than she was. She was a farm wife, a devout Methodist, an excellent cook, and loving mother and wife to Ralph. She died of pneumonia in 1967, at age 88, and is buried beside her husband in Bethel Church cemetery in Alberta, Virginia.
