a. Note:   Gill Blanchard writes, on "REPORT FOR JOYCE LEHMANN 29/06/2006" I also re-checked the 1826 baptism. [Thetford St. Cuthbert Parish Registers (film): P.37. No.294. June 25th. James (born 10th June 1825) Son of James & Sarah GARNER (late STOKES). This Parish. Shoe maker.] This definitely gives the mother’s name as Sarah late STOKES. The entry immediately below it is also for a mother called Sarah, so it looks as if the mother’s name has been written incorrectly. The father’s name is definitely given as James not Joseph. The entry immediately above is for a James son of William and Elizabeth Whistler, and the entry immediately below is for an Ellen daughter of James and Sarah Hambling.
