Notes
a. Note:   Catherine owned some old china. Two plates survive--one each owned by Tania (Hudd) Selden and Joyce (Hudd) Lehmann, her great-grandaughters. The plates are Mason's Ironstone China, made in 1820 and 1830 in England, invented to replace Japanese copies of Chinese patterns. Edward "Ted" Hudd told Laura (Mitchell) Hudd that the china belonged originally to his great-uncle Bill Carter, uncle of his mother Catherine (Pamplin) Hudd. In the Census of 30 March 1851 Catherine is living with her parents Samual and Ann Pamplin next door to William Carter and his wife Elizabeth. Living with the Carters is John E. Pamplin, nephew, age 16.
