Note: [Nannestad Sept 2004.FTW] [Gedcom - Lars Stokstad.FTW] SOURCE CITATION: BIRTH: (Taken from letter dated 22 Jan 2000 to Arnold Offerdahl from Jan Kristiansen, genealogist at the State Archives in Oslo) Nannestad church register no. 8, page 96 Magnild, girl child Born 16 March, 1804 baptized 25 March 1804 Parents: Ingebreth Andersen Steensgaard and Else Larsdatter Godparents: Fridriche Stensgaard Berthe Henriesdatter Vigen Lars and Ole Steensgaard Thord Larsen, servant on Sandnæs. SOURCE CITATION - CONFIRMATION: (Taken from letter dated 25 Jan 2000 to Arnold Offerdahl from Jan Kristiansen, genealogist at the State Archives in Oslo) Ullensaker church register, year 1820 Confirmed: Magnild Engebretsdatter Stokstad, baptized 1803, from Eidsvold Parents: Engebret Andersen and Else Pedersdatter (Note by genealogist: "It is of course likely that this is Anne's sister whose year of birth and mother's name are given inaccurately. Most noteworthy is however the two words "from Eidsvold". This may of course just yet another wrong info rmation, but it may also mean that her parents originally were from Eidsvoll parish and thus had come to Nannestad from Eidsvoll (which wouldn't be sensational at all, as Eidsvoll is Nannestad's neighboring parish northwards). In that case we hav e a problem if you want to go further back on their ancestries, as the church registers for Eidsvoll prior to 1861 have been lost in a fire." (Query by Arnold Offerdahl to Jan Kristiansen: You mentioned that in Magnild's confirmation record there is given an address of Eidsvold. Magnild was born and baptized in 1803 in Nannestad, and according to the 1801 Census the family was liv ing at that time on a cotter's place at Nannestad rectory. So the parents had been living there for at least two years already when Magnild was born and baptized. It would seem to me improbable (and therefore some kind of error) that Engebret wo uld have given his address as Eidsvold. But, who knows?) SOURCE CITATION - 1865 CENSUS: (Taken from letter dated 22 Jan 2000 to Arnold Offerdahl from Jan Kristiansen, genealogist at the State Archives in Oslo) Sætre farm, Ullensaker Ole Olssen, tenant farmer, 58, b. Næs, Romerige Magnild Embertsdatter, wife, 62, b. Nannestad (1865 - 62 = b 1803) Petter Olsen, son, shoemaker, unmarried, 34, b. Ullensager Mathea Olsdatter, daughter, unmarried, 24, b. Ullensager "The most uncommon of these names (Magnild's siblings) is Magnild. In the (computerized) census for 1865 for Ullensaker there is just one Magnild."
