a. Note:   BLEDSOE, Elizabeth "Betty" Parlato Of Lexington, died peacefully at home on September 7, 2012. Born February 15, 1919 in Derby, Connecticut, she was a graduate of Smith College and also received a Masters Degree from the University of Louisville and a C.A.G.S. from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. She was a former resident of Cambridge, a teacher in the Cambridge Public Schools and a member of The First Parish (Unitarian Universalist) in Cambridge. She was a beloved wife, a wonderful mother and grandmother, a warm and spirited friend, and an active, caring part of her community. She is survived by her husband, Charles Horton Vivian; her children: Walker Bledsoe Smith (Heinrich C. Bofinger), Carty Bledsoe (Richard Landis), Ranny Bledsoe, Allie Bledsoe (Neil Sullivan), Tom Bledsoe (Alexandra Turner); stepdaughters: Gwenn Vivian and Laura Vivian; niece and nephew: Elizabeth Burke Gilmore and Bill Burke, grandchildren: Caitlin Sullivan, Erin Sullivan, Sean Sullivan, Molly Sullivan, Rory Bledsoe, Siobhan Bledsoe, Maddie Bledsoe, Isabel Bledsoe, Joanna Rosenberg and Ali Rosenberg; great niece and nephew: Elspeth Gilmore and William Gilmore (Molly) and other family and dear friends. A memorial service will be held at The First Parish Church later in the fall. For many years, Betty was the soup cook for the Tuesday Meals Program for the homeless at First Parish. Expressions of sympathy may be made to this program: checks should be made out to The First Parish, 3 Church Street, Cambridge, Mass 02138 with a note indicating the TMP (Tuesday Meals Program).
