Notes
a. Note:   Mona Bond thought his name might be Thomas Anderson.
Except for their daughter, Elizabeth, the whole family came to West Virginia. James came immediately after the Civil War and he sent for the rest of the family before 1868. Fran Ramsey Fore, granddaughter of Andrew Jackson Ramsey, told Carolyn Ramsay that while Anderson Ramsey's sons were fighting for the Confederacy, Anderson was spying for the Union and selling them horses. (email from Carolyn Ramsay. Her family name was originally Ramsey)
John Thomas Ramsey was the original owner of what became Anderson's home place. He purchased the property in Ritchie Co. in Aug, 1871 and then he died of a tumor in Columbus, OH in July 1872. His father was listed as his heir, so Anderson made claim in 1875 to his son's property.
The 1880 census places Anderson in the Clay district of Ritchie Co. and in 1870 he is listed in Union Twp. Both are the Harrisville P.O. (probably the same location)
In the deed conveyed to Lafayette from Anderson & Elizabeth, dated Jan 28, 1892, it states that the area contains 30 acres excepting 1 acre conveyed by J. T. Ramsey to P. W. Keith by deed dated 6/21/1872 & recorded in Deed Book 15, page 509. That date is 10 days before John Thomas died on 1 July 1872. The deed from Anderson and Elizabeth (Neither could write their name.) to Fate is in Deed Book 37, page 421. The property is on Stewarts Run. P. W. is Polser W. Keith, born 1825 in OH. His descendants included 3 generations with the name Merryman Keith, and the third Merriman had a son Dale, born 1933, who I met in Harrisville, WV in July of 2012 doing research on Fate Ramsey's gravesite . Dale informed me that he grew up at the head of Stewarts Run, that his father's nickname was Bill, and he was called Bill because he walked like a neighbor Bill Ramsey. This was actually Bill Rowsey who must have also been known as Bill Ramsey since he was Fate Ramsey's son.
The 1880 census lists: Belle Walton age 18 b. VA as Niece and James Demasters age 38 b. VA as Nephew. These would be children of the several unknown sisters of Anderson or his wife. More research is needed.
Anderson's mother Keziah, 88, is living with his family in 1850. She is blind. Betsey Ramsey is living with Anderson in 1860. She would be his aunt and her age is 64.

Note:   27 April is the date of the marriage bond. Charles Lilly (deceased) is listed as Elizabeth' s father in her marriage record. No mother is listed.
