a. Note:   They moved from Nelson Co. to Rockbridge Co. between 1836 and 1840. On 20 September 1837 legal action was started to sell the land of the deceased James Ramsey. This must be James, Sr.
  In 1840 James and his 2 sons, Anderson and Lewis are in Rockbridge Co. Betsey Ramsey, age 64, is living with Anderson in 1860. This could be James' sister Lizea (Elizabeth).
  Census records for 1820 and 1830 indicate James might have as many as 7 sons and 6 daughters.
