Notes
a. Note:   Lawrence Alley, Jr. remembered that Millicent Ann had a half sister, possibly Ethel, who had land around or in Deland Florida during the 1930's boom. Even though she had no half sisters, this shows that they new her mother married again.
Listed as Martha A. with her new husband, Zachariah Moore, in Estill Co., Ky in 1870 and with Martha's mother, Susannah Roberts, age 68. Susannah is blind in 1860 (b. 1803) and 1870 (b. 1802) census records. In 1880, also blind, Susannah is living with a niece, Darkis (Dorcus) Kelly, age 48, widow, in Wolfe Co. KY. Dorcus's husband was Kinchen Kelly, b. 1826 in TN. Martha was not found in the 1850 census.
The 1910 Perry Co. census records that only 5 of her 8 children were living. There is no death certificate for Martha. Kentucky started recording deaths in 1911, but there is no record of her death in 1918. Many early records were not recorded.
"The following old people are now living in Perry County.... Mrs. Martha Moore, Pad Napier's mother though young, is remarkably well posted, Hazard, 60 ..." (Age 60. I think that "well posted" means that she knew what was going on in the community.)
Interview with Robert N. Baker, April 1898. Martha was younger than most of the people he wrote about. (Excerpted from Dickey Diary, pages 2238-2243 from reel 3, pp. 2277-8).
Martha Matilda is apparently named after her Aunt Matilda, the wife of Uncle Lewis Campbell.
Martha's widowed sister, Ava Shepherd, and her son Charles are living with her in 1880.
Martha's Gravestone is in Red Hill Cemetery, Chavies, Perry Co., KY; engraved "MARTHA ROBERTS MOORE 1837 - 1918". "GRANDMOTHER" is on the base.
b. Note:   NF697
Note:   "Matilda Roberts (18) to William Napier (21), 10 Oct 1853"
The name Matilda, in the marriage record, is not found anywhere else. One census record has the middle initial "A". Matilda was only 16 and infladed her age to 18. This has to be the right record since no other William Napier or Matilda Roberts the right age is in the county in 1850. Also her brother John was married on the same day. Matilda is a common name in the Roberts and Napier families.
 Roberts, John (23), Noble, Sinda (20), (b. Breathitt Co.), 10 Oct.1853
