a. Note:   Abby Lilly is listed in the 1820 Waynesboro, Augusta Co., VA census, as are John and Lindsey Lilly. The listing is 100000 - 10301. Since there are only 2 young children under 10 years, Abby is probably one of the women in the 16 to 26 age group rather than over 45. I think she was the husband of Charles (father of Mary Elizabeth born 1817) and that Charles died between 1817 and 1820. The 1850 Augusta Co. census lists John Lilley with wife and daughter. He is the right age to be the son in the 1820 census with Abby, and he does not fit into another family in the area.
 Abigail either died or married again before the 1830 census.
