Note: In the War of 1812, Jesse enlisted on March 27, 1813 in the 27th Ohio Infantry under Captain William Gill. He engaged in the Battle of the Thames before he was discharged at Detroit on March 30, 1814. In Belmont County, Ohio on January 16, 1817, Jesse married Esther. Jesse patented land in Marietta, OH 15 July 1825. About 1835, they moved to neighboring Monroe County and lived there until about the Spring of 1853. At this time, the family went west to Freetown, Indiana where Jesse received 160 acres of bounty land for his service in the war. (rootsweb)
Jesse is listed in the Wayne Twp., Belmont Co., Enumeration of White male inhabitance over the age of 21 for 1827. He is the only Weekley listed in Wayne.
