Obituary, West Union Record, 25 August 1905 (Friday):
Morgan Gorbey, one of the oldest citizens in the county, died very suddenly at his home at Center Point Friday. He was in rather good health and cheerful on the day of his death and was engaged in conversation with a friend when the end came.
Mr. Gorbey was seventy-two years old and had been married twice. His last wife survives him. He had five children by his first wife and two by his last. The children by his first wife are Mrs. Atha Halman, of Alvy; Mrs. Nan Cutright, of Sedalis; Mrs. Amanda Underwood of Alpha; Mrs. Emma Furbee of Salem; and Miss Helen Gorbey; and those of his last wife are Miss Jessie Gorgey and Guy Gorbey.
The Internment took place Saturday at the Coleman cemetery, all his children and many of his relatives and old friends being present.
 Other news on that page:
Our people were shocked with surprise last Friday to here of the sudden death of Morgan Gorby, of Center Point. Uncle Levi Roberts, in his 83ÙCsupÙDrdÙC/supÙD year, followed his old friend to the Coleman cemetery on Middle Island creek and saw his body laid away. He says that there are not many of us left.
