Note: Thomas Ramsey was injured at Charleston, WV in the Civil War. He was in Company "C" 14TH VA. Calvary. According to Mona Bond (granddaughter of his brother James) he died at home in Rockbridge Co. VA from these injuries. However at another she told me that he died of the tumor in Ohio. Land records in Ritchie Co., WV show that he came to WV and died in 1872. John Thomas was the original owner of what became Anderson's homeplace. He purchased the property in Ritchie Co. in Aug, 1871 & then he died of a tumor in Columbus, OH on 1 July 1872 at age 28. His father was listed as his heir, thus Anderson made claim in 1875 to his son's property.
