Considering the information listed here and the gap in the children's ages, it is possible that she is addopted. No other Hester or Esther was found in local records. Considering the birth record, the other possibility is that Esthella was also known as Esther and Rose is her illitimate daughter, and was raised as a daughter of William and Hester. Descendants in William David's line did not know she was in the family.
