 Several sources were consulted. Among them is a notarized affidavit, dated 27 March 1890, by Abigail DeHaven Philips which names her father and mother and all her siblings. It also names her grandfather Peter DeHaven and 8 of his children, omitting Abigail. She also names Jacob and mentions that he loaned a large sum of money to the government, but places him later by one generation. The purpose of the affidated is not stated. She died 6 months later.
 Isaac was a farmer.
