Notes
a. Note:   Name is found in documents with various other spellings: Rick, Rix
  Inscription: Died Sept 7 1834 Aged 64 ys 1 mo 2 ds
Thomas had 2 daughters. The clue to identify Elizabeth is in The History of West Virginia. The other is Catharine. Sons are: Benjamin, Thomas, James, and Phillip. Benjamin and Thomas, Jr are the only children who did not come to WV.
 Green Co. Census:
 1800 Thomas Rick - 10110 - 10010 - 00 Dunkard Twp
 1810 Thos Rix - 11010 - 01010 - 0 Greene Twp (191 census listings in Twp)
 1810 Larry Rix - 22001 - 10101 - 0 Greene Twp
Thos and Larry were not living very near each other in 1810. Larry was not found in 1800.
The family came to Dunkard Township, Greene Co. Pennsylvania between 1794 and 1800 from Hunterdon Co. New Jersey. Birth in probably in PA or NJ. Thomas Wrick is listed among the Amwell Militia in Hunterdon Co. NJ in 1792, and in the June 1793 tax list of Armwell, Essex Co., NJ ÙCiÙD(Don't misread it as Amwell.)ÙC/iÙD
Larry Wrick (Rix) is listed in the 1810 Greene Co. PA census, age is over 45 for him and his wife, 4 boys under 16, one girl under 16 and one girl 16-26. With a birth slightly before 1765, he is likely an older brother of Thomas. Larry (Lawrence) who is not listed as head of a household in later years is probably with one of his children. Lawrence Rick/Ricks, in Congress, Wayne Co., Ohio in 1820 and born in PA is most certainly his son. By 1840 he is in Vanderburgh Co., Indiana and in 1850 he is a farmer in Jefferson , Elkhart Co., Indiana at age 66. His wife "Mrs. Ricks" is 67. Both were born in PA. Thomas L. Rix, age 45 and listed with an Indiana birth, is in Henry Co., Indiana. If the birth place is wrong he could be a son or grandson of Larry Wrick (Rix).
There was also a Phillip Wrick, who has a will recorded in NJ, b. 8 May 1785, d. 4 Feb 1864.(or b. 24 Jun 1784, and d. 31 Jan 1864 - found on ancestry.com. Also: New Jersey Index of Wills, Inventories, Etc., Vol II, Hunterdon Co., Page: 770) He married Mary Butterfoss 9 Mar 1809 in Lamington, NJ. (found on ancestry.com) Phillip's son Andrew, in the 1880 census lists his father born in NJ and mother in PA. Phillip may be a nephew, although I have listed him as a cousin because of Edward trimmer in his Wrick Family History say that Phillips mother had no siblings that the family was aware of. Considering that Thomas named one of his boys Phillip and Phillip had a son Thomas makes a close relationship probable. Joseph Wrick in Bucks Co., PA also lists his father's birth in NJ.
Some Wrick families stayed in New Jersey.
In the 1880 census nearly all the Wricks are in NJ, PA, and WV. They appear to all come from NJ. (There were Wricks in OH earlier.)
All those in WV are our relatives.
William and Harriet Prall in Amwell, NJ, married 5 Aug 1843 in Hunterdon.
Thomas and Lydia in Trenton, NJ
Joseph and Mercy in Bristol, Bucks Co., PA (lists father as born in NJ)
Thomas and 2 sisters, Allie and Malinda, in Dunkard, PA (our line)
Andrew and Sally in Tunkhannock, PA (lists father, who is Philip born 1785, as born in NJ)
All the above Wrick families appear to all come from NJ
Daniel and Eva in Otsego, IN They were born in Prussia and came to the USA between 1863 and 1867, at the time of the Austro-Prussian War of 1866. Prussia is now in the northern part of Poland which is north east of Germany.
I found in the 1910 OH census a Wrick who came to USA about 1890 and was born in Germany.
Katrina in Fort Calhoun, NE from Holstein (in the southern part of Germany) is living in a community of people from Holstein.
