Note: From an old family Bible written in German, passed down from Samuel Russell to Alberta Russell McKinney and to Raymond R. McKinney, who sent this English translation to Mona Bond around 1935. McKinney lived in Phoenix Arizona. ÙCuÙDBirth and Baptism of Mary Schaedler ÙC/uÙDOn the 18th of December, 1785, at 5:00 o'clock Sunday morning, a girl was born, named Mary, and was baptized March 20, 1786. Baptism witnesses were: Mary Weisslen, Fredrick Schaedler, and Matlena Schaedler. Father and Mother are Fredrick Schaedler, and Matlena Schaedler. The following note was added by Raymond: Mona: This baby, Mary, was your great grand mother. She married a man named Ruschel, whose name was changed to Russell when they came to United States. I do not know his first name. He was drowned in Middle Island Creek at the old Russell Hole. People can tell you around West Union. Signed: R. R. McKinney George Russell is the one who drowned in Middle Island Creek, and we know his wife is Sarah. Considering the ages, it makes sense to assume that McKinney erred by a generation, and that William is the husband of Mary Schaedler.
