Note: In the 1920 census her age is recorded correctly at 67. 1930 age is 60
Her death certificate is incorrect at 60 years. She must have shaved 7 years off for her second marriage. Her birth date in 1900 is not correct at Nov 1865. She has been married 10 years, and has no biological children. Emma is listed as adopted and was born 10 months after their marriage. The birth place of her father is listed as unknown, thus she may have been an illegitimate child. A letter written by Anna Bell Alley Faulker on 5 July 1896 says, "Cora's baby is one year old... Cora made diner for Pig ÙCiÙD(Samantha Alley Hutchison).ÙC/iÙD" Another letter from Anna Bell dated 2 Dec 1884 before Cora married says, "Cora Alley has been staying at Mr.Hogan's. Then went to Geo. Stewart's. She got sick. George took her home. Aunt Sarah ÙCiÙD(her mother's sister)ÙC/iÙD said she could not sit up."
I know of no other Cora in the family that could have had the baby. I will assume that she only reported living children and the census is wrong and the baby died.
