Notes
a. Note:   There is a Cary Alley (clearly written) in the 1860 neighboring Lawrence Co. census, listed as a farm hand. He has the same birth year as Casey. Are they the same person?
The 1850 Greenup census erroneously lists him as a female, living with his mother.
Cary is living with Oliver Buckhannin in Lawrence Co. , KY in 1860. Oliver is listed as a Bachelor Farmer. His land is worth $3000. Cary is a farmhand. The dwelling number in the census is # 957. The Chapman farm, which Lucinda Alley and her husband Mark Dempsey purchased, is #1129 in the 1860 census. Both are in the Louisa Post Office district.
In 1840 William Alley (brother of Casey) may be living with Wm McClure family near the Isaac Chapman farm in Lawrence Co. KY. He is listed next to the Chapman farm in 1850. People the right ages to be William Alley, Mary, and the 2 oldest daughters are listed with McClure. This accounts for the extra adults and the 2 girls who are not children in the family in the 1850 census. Chapman is household # 897; McClure is # 899.
Casey may be another name for Cary since both were born in 1815 and both are single.
