a. Note:   There was a famous preacher in the early 1800s by the name, Lorenzo Dow.
  Lorenzo had a general store in Catlettsburg. He recorded transactions with some of the Alley's in his Account Ledger which is in his family's possession.
  His burial place is not a recognized cemetery. It is somewhere on Bear Creek which empties into the Big Sandy River between Louisa and Cattlesburg, Ky and almost on the Boyd Co. and Lawrence Co. Ky boundary line. The Alley family is not sure of the exact location.
  Many of his family are in the Alley Cemetery, located 3.5 miles west of Rt. 52 on old Prichard Road, west of Prichard, WV, on the south side up a hill behind the home of Cyrus and Rebecca Alley. Stones of several of Lorenzo's children were placed long after their deaths when Cyrus died.
