a. Note:   In November 1854 Elizabeth Rucker versed James Blevins, in Carter County, Kentucky... The heirs (of Elizabeth) were cited in a reply and petition dated 19 April 1955 includes "Thomas J. Rucker, Basil Rucker, Seriah Rucker, Mary who had married John Alley, Mary E, Martha, Nancy J, Loenar ÙCiÙD(Lenore, Leonard died)ÙC/iÙD, Charles W. and Sarah A. Alley." Although not specifically refered to as such, these are the heirs of James Rucker. The heirs were important in the case. Thomas J. Rucker stated that he was the son and agent of plaintiff Elizabeth Rucker who was "absent from the county of Carter."
 The 6 names after John Alley are children of Sarah Rucker Alley, deceased first wife of James Alley.
  James Alley and Sarah Rucker are the parents of Nancie J. (Alley) Bruce on Nancy's death certificate.
