a. Note:   Barely remember her....only recall her taking Mary Lou & I to Sunday school at a little church in W. Brownsville. She was the matriarch of the family and ran people and things her way. A very generous woman who gave shoes and clothes to the needy and got in trouble with the milk control board of Pa. because she refused to pour the skim milk left over when it was separated to get cream, down the sewer, she gave it to people who needed it. She also accepted the script the miners were paid in, which was only good at the company store, in payment for milk. She owned the dairy and two houses and left it all to my mother in her will which caused just a little trouble around the clan, but she knew her offspring well.
