He came from Missouri as a young man. His father came from England. I don't know what his father's name was. I don't have any dates. Harry James made his living from Bees and the extracting of honey. He also painted and wallpapered houses. His main love was music. He was excellent on the violin, but he could play about any instrument you handed him. He taught most of his children how to play one or 2 instruments. My mother played the Bass Vial. Aunt Irene the piano, Uncle Lawrence the piano & Saxophone, Uncle Don, the Trombone, Uncle Carl the Trumpet, Uncle Roy was the only one who didn't play anything. I think he played the drums too." --Mary Spitzer Chatham in a letter (no date) but believed to have been written in 1990-91 when Ben or Sarah Chatham were doing a family history in Middle school at Grand Rapids, MN. Harry moved from Wisconsin to Dodge City, KS when he was 4 years old and 10 years later came to Lamar, Co and in 1909 moved to Wiley, CO. It is about time for my internet class so had better close for now. If you need further information let me know. I have a record of all of his children. Harry *Note: I'm not sure where "Wonewae, Wisconsin" is. Dane Co, Wisconsin has a "Waubese", named after lake by same name; "Waunakee", a railroad town NW of Lake Mendota and straight north of Madison in Westport twp. This is probably town being referred to. -GMC
