  John Bailey, a life long citizen of this town (Cookshire), left last Friday for Washington Territory or State where his son lives and owns a large ranch. John came round, shook hands with all his old friends and school mates and bid them all good-bye with tear moistened eyes, little thinking he would ever see them again on earth. He cared for his aged mother a good many years after she was past caring for herself until a little over one year ago when she died, age 90 years and it seems hard that he should be obliged to break up, leave his old home and associates and go as it were to a strange land. His old associates will miss him, but all are hoping that he may find the good Samaritan in his son's family, one who will lead him gently down the hill of life and make his last days full of sunshine and peace. He was an honest and hard working man.
