a. Note:   Thomas farmed on the 13th range of Leeds in Megantic county, Quebec on land granted by the crown in 1858. He received part of lot 17, about 100 acres. He built a log home here and raised a family of 14 children. Thomas was frequently called upon as a doctor to many settlers around the area and sewed up cuts that were sometimes the result of kicks by horses. He died on September 25, 1885 and is buried in the Church of England cemetery in Leeds Village, Quebec.
