Note: Death Notice - Abilene Reporter News, Tuesday, April 17, 2018 Jeanne Ferguson ABILENE '97 Jeanne Ferguson, 95, passed away April 16, 2018. Memorial service is scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday, April 19, 2018, in North's Funeral Home Memorial Chapel, 242 Orange St. Burial to follow in Texas State Veterans Cemetery at Abilene, under the direction of North's Funeral Home. - Note: Services were held at North's Funeral Home on Friday, April 20th. Attending were: Son: Michael Jame Ferguson and wife Nancy Hile Ferguson of Clyde, Texas Grandaughter: Heather Ferguson Nelson of Fort Worth, Texas Daughter: Maureen Ferguson Crouch and husband Gary Crouch of Abilene, Texas Grandson: Brent Irby and wife Melissa Irby of Abilene, Texas Grandson: Justin Irby and wife Nickie Irby of Tuscola, Texas Son: Kevin Dale Ferguson and wife Pamela Shaw Ferguson of Abilene, Texas Grandson: Scott Ferguson of Round Rock, Texas Grandson: Jason Ferguson and Fiance Cassie Linley of Abilene, Texas Great Grandaughter: Kadence Ferguson Son: Brian Ferguson of Smithtown, NY A luncheon for family and friends was hosted (following services and internment at the Texas State Veteran's Cemetery) at the home of Brent and Melissa Irby. An item of note is that the Taylor County Sheriff's Dept. stopped «u»all«/u» traffic along the funeral procession route (from 242 Orange St. to Veteran's Cemetery in honor of Abilene's former "First Lady" (and mother of two deputies) - a distance of 7.8 miles ------ OBITUARY: Abilene Reporter News, 18 April, 2018: Jeanne E. Ferguson Jeanne E. Ferguson 95, of Abilene, passed on Monday, April 16, 2018, with her family by her side. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Thursday in North's Memorial Chapel with Jerry Vincent officiating. Burial will follow in the Texas State Veterans Cemetery, under the direction of North's Funeral Home, 242 Orange St. Jeanne married her high school sweetheart, Dale Ferguson, during WWII, where he served as a B-25 Pilot. They were married for 69 1/2 years. Jeanne was a teacher, homemaker, department store buyer and a realtor. She was a member of the Abilene Woman's Club, Women of Rotary and a member of the First Central Presbyterian Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, grandchild Christopher Ferguson and sister, Ruth Ann. She is survived by her four children, Michael Ferguson and wife Nancy, Maureen Crouch and husband Gary, Kevin Ferguson and wife Pam, Brian Ferguson and wife Sheila. Ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Diabetes Association or a charity of your choice. The family would like to thank the Staff at Wisteria Place for the wonderful care given to their parents.
