He also had a great grandmother who's maiden name was Davis (Wilmuth Davis Gilbert). I'm not sure where the Davis name comes from. I had him as Thomas David for the longest time. They moved from Taylor's Store to Cooper's Cove abt. 1846, then to Roanoke Co. abt. 1860, and finally to Pittsylvania Co. abt. 1868 to be near her sister Louisa Harvey Craft & husband George. * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * 1840 Franklin Co., VA Census (near Taylor's Store) Thomas Wood 1 male 20-29 1 female 15-19 2 females under 5 * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * Cannot locate 1850. * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * 1860 Cooper's Store, Franklin Co., VA Household Role Sex Age Birthplace Thos D Wood M 46 Virginia Frances F Wood F 37 Virginia Samuel H Wood M 11 Virginia Lucy, Mary & Sarah were boarding at school. * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * 1870 Chatham P.O., Pittsylvania Co., VA (near Tomahawk Creek) Household Role Sex Age Birthplace Thos D Wood M 56 Virginia Frances T Wood F 48 Virginia Mary M Wood F 29 Virginia Saml H Wood M 21 Virginia Louisa Wood F 8 Virginia Thos J Wood M 7 Virginia Matthew H Wood M 11 Virginia Frances Wood F 9 Virginia * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * 1880 Callands Dist., Pittsylvania Co., VA (Tomahawk Creek) Household Role Sex Age Birthplace Tomas D Wood Self M 58 Virginia Francis T Wood Wife F 76 Virginia Tomas T Wood Son M 20 Virginia Surrounded by Anderson's - Nancy (50), William & Lucille?
