She worked at a service station at the intersection of Hwy. 79 N & Bryant Street where she met and married J.D. Hulse. She owned a trailer park in White Hall, AR, just north of Pine Bluff. She was born August 30, 1930 at Haskell (Saline County), Arkansas a daughter of the late Henry Arthur Jacobs and Emma Grace Boles Jacobs Allen. She was reared and educated at Pine Bluff, and worked as a clerk with her husband in the operation of Hulse Lion Service Station at White Hall. She was a member of First Baptist Church of White Hall, and had taught the girls auxiliary class for a number of years. She was also a former Girl Scout leader. She married Jesse Daniel Hulse, Sr. on April 3, 1953 at Pine Bluff; he preceded her in death on December 17, 1979. She was also predeceased by a brother, Richard Jacobs and her step-father, James A. Allen. Survivors include three sons, Clarence Arthur (Jake) Hulse and Benjamin Franklin Hulse, both of Pine Bluff, and Jesse D. Hulse, Jr. of White Hall; three daughters, Susan Lynn Lyles of Sulphur Springs, Constance Louise Kinsey of Hot Springs, and Nancy Kathleen Martin of White Hall; two brothers, Robert Jacobs and Edward Jacobs, both of Pine Bluff; five sisters, Betty Beamon and Ruth Carlson, both of Houston, Texas, Cleo Godfrey of Beaumont, Texas, Henrietta Mann and Melinda McLaughlin, both of Pine Bluff; 22 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Monday, July 31, 2006, 10:00 a.m. at Fuller Hale-South Funeral Services with Dr. Bob Harper officiating. Committal services will be held Monday at 2:00 p.m. in Gilchrist Cemetery at Friendship (Hot Spring County), Arkansas. Visitation will be Sunday from 4-6 p.m. at the funeral home.
