Aunt Cleo was quite the character, was a colorful dresser & was a member of the Red Hat Society.

Cleo Mann Godfrey, 82, of Beaumont passed away on Saturday December 21, 2013 at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont.
A native of Benton, Arkansas, she moved here in her early twenties and was a lifelong resident. She was born on October 11, 1931 to her parents Henry Arthur Jacobs and Emma Grace Boles Jacobs who preceded her in death. Cleo was also preceded in death by two husbands Young Mann and Samuel Godfrey, three brothers and four sisters.
Mrs. Godfrey was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church of Beaumont. Cleo loved God and enjoyed sharing God with others, including family and treasured friends. She also loved people and her family says once you met her she was a friend for life. She was a devoted member of the Red Hat Society, The Womens Club of Beaumont and in her prime years of life enjoyed cooking at her own restaurant Cleos Kitchen on College Street. Mrs. Godfrey also worked as a manager for the area Dairy Queen organization. One of her favorite hobbies was a love for flowers and gardening and also enjoyed fellowship with her neighbors and family especially her beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Surviving Mrs. Godfrey are her son Paul Mann and his wife Janie of Nederland, daughters Charolette Phair and her husband George of Kendalia, Texas, Patricia Penisson and her husband Bradley of Beaumont, brother Robert Jacobs and wife Janie of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, sister Betty Beamon of Beaumont, grandchildren Michelle Shelton and husband Larry of Lumberton, Jeffrey Barber and wife Tiffany of Nederland, Ryan Brewer and wife Megan of Beaumont, Mehgan Taack and husband Justin of Round Rock, Colin Mann and wife Crystal of Lumberton, Andrew Phair and Geoffrey Phair both of Kountze, Brian Phair of Houston, Evan Penisson and wife Brittney of Beaumont, Alan Penisson of China, Texas, Michelle Johnson and husband Dante of Kountze, Great Grandchildren Kathryn Barber, Karyn Barber, Thomas Barber all of Nederland, Hattie Taack of Round Rock, Jaden Johnson and Braylen Johnson both of Kountze, Dylon Penisson and Matthew Penisson both of China, and Jakob Shelton of Lumberton.
Visitation for Mrs. Godfrey will be held on Sunday December 22, 2013 from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Forest Lawn Funeral Home in Beaumont. Funeral services will be on Monday December 23, 2013 at 10:00 at Calvary Baptist Church of Beaumont with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Beaumont.
