Uncle Bob told me personally that we would be buried near his dad in the Veteran's Garden section of Graceland Cemetery in Pine Bluff, but his family placed him with Aunt Jane in Rowell, where her family is buried.
US Army, Korea.
Was twin to Lara Belle, who died as an infant.
He died 6 months after Jane.
Bob owned an auto junkyard named "Pick Your Parts" in Pine Bluff, AR & repaired vehicles.
My father, Ed Rogers, was very close to his Uncle Bob. All the kids grew up calling him Uncle Bob. My daddy would only talk to Uncle Bob about what happened in Vietnam. Uncle Bob took those secrets to the grave.
Robert Arthur Jacobs, 83, of Pine Bluff, died Saturday, June 15, 2019. Born July 15, 1935 at Magnolia, he was a son of the late Henry Arthur Jacobs and Emma Grace Bowles Jacobs.
A resident of Pine Bluff since 1950, he had been an iron worker for the local union for 30 years before working for International Paper Company for four years. He was also the owner/operator of Pick Your Parts salvage yard.
He was predeceased by his wife, Jane Sipes Jacobs, whom he married in 1956 at Greenville, MS; a son, Bruce Jacobs; two brothers; and five sisters.
Survivors include three sons, Steve Jacobs (Carol) of Star City, Danny Jacobs (Deborah) of Pine Bluff, and Chris Jacobs (Wendy) of White Hall; 14 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Wednesday, June 19, 2019, beginning at 9:00 a.m. at Fuller Hale-South Funeral Chapel. The funeral service will follow at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be in Rowell Cemetery.
