Her sisters blamed her and treated her very poorly. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * When she was a young woman she was talked into being a surrogate mother for one of her sisters. She had a son named Young McCullough. He was treated poorly by the sister and Lara Belle felt used. He traveled around a lot as a young man but eventually settled in Texas. His son James visited her in the 1950's in Friendhip, AR. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * After R. C. died she lived with her grandson Jim Stepp. She raised both her daughter Reba's sons, George & Jim. They moved to Arkadelphia about 1959. After Jim died in 1960 of cancer, she moved in with her daughter Bonnie. She had a stroke on Dec. 23 & died 4 days later. In her obit her name is misspelled Laura, and misspelled Bell on her tombstone. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Unknown publication, about December 29, 1961, Page unknown Mrs. Laura Belle Boles, Widow of R. C. Boles (Gazette State News Service) Arkadelphia, Dec. 27. - Mrs. Laura Belle Cox Boles, aged 82, of Arkadelphia, widow of R. C. Boles, died Wednesday at a hospital here. She was born at Pikeville, Tenn., and was a Baptist. Survivors include a son, R. D. Boles of Donaldson (Hot Springs County); three daughters, Mrs. Reba Hickson and Mrs. Emma Allen, both of Stuttgart, and Mrs. Bonnie Rogers of Arkadelphia, 21 grandchildren, 60 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Funeral will be at 10 a. m. Friday at the Murry Funeral Chapel here by Rev Connie Norwood. Burial will be at Friendship Cemetery. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
