She became addicted to morphine and died somewhere in Dallas Co., Texas. I think her son James brought her body back to Arkansas by train. It has been said she died in 1870, but she is listed in the 1880 census taken June 4, 1880. I have not been able to locate a marriage record for John Lawrence to Martha. Her father's second wife was her first husband's sister. In the 1870 census is Rachel Lawrence, but not Viola. It's possible this was Viola under a different name. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * 1860 El Dorado Township, Union County, AR Household Role Sex Age Birthplace Jas Burns M 49 Mississippi E Burns F 47 Mississippi Martha Milliner F 20 Arkansas Ruth Mooty F 16 Arkansas Jackson Burns M 10 Arkansas James Milliner M 4 Arkansas Sarah Milliner F 2 Arkansas Cora Milliner F 0 Arkansas Irvin Mooty M 25 Georgia * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * See second husband John W.
