 His birthdate has previously been stated as 1847, but he is 8 years old in the 1850 census.
  Daniel was said to be of Irish descent.
  In the 1870 census his father George (age 61 b. VA) & 2nd wife Polly Boles (Boals) are next door to them.
 Not far away was a John (age 31, b. TN) & Mary Jane Boles (Boals) with children George & Malissa.
  I believe Dan & wife are buried in Eagle Furnace Cemetery, but this is unverified.
