Funeral services for Marion Daniel Sharp, 85, Kemp, were held June 29, 2007, at Roselawn Funeral Home and Memorial Park, under the direction of Anderson Clayton Bros. Funeral Home of Kemp, with the Rev. Dub Henry officiating.
Sharp was born March 18, 1922, in Chambers County, Alabama, son of Lila Mae (McJunkins) and Herschell Sharp, and died June 27, 2007, in Kaufman.
He married Lucille Mayes and they lived in Kaufman County, near Kemp. Sharp was manager of Sears and Roebuck Farm Store for 23 years, and was also manager of Montgomery Wards for 10 years.
He was of the Baptist faith. His parents, two brothers and three sisters preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife Lucille of Kemp; daughters Brenda Floyd of Denton and Marionette DeHart and husband Ronald of Garland; son Dan Sharp of Kaufman; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; sisters Nell Foster of Austin, Grace Hammock of Atlanta, Ga., Marion Carter of Lafayette, Ala., and Reba Price of Piedmont, Ala.; and numerous other relatives, extended family and friends.
