Funeral services for Robert Leonard Dodson will be conducted this afternoon at 3:30 o;clock from the home of his son, C. Willard Dodson, Danville.
Mr. Dodson, a life-long resident of the Danville area, died yesterday at his Ringgold home at the age of 83.
From 1907 until 1910 he was a member of the House of Delegates and thereafter engaged in several business ventures at Ringgold and Danville. He left Danville in 1919 and spent several winters in Florida. He later moved back to Danville three years ago.
In 1878 he was married to Miss Eliza Shelton, who later died leaving him four children: Ralph W. & R. Lester Dodson of New York city; Harry F. Dodson, who died 6 years ago; and Mrs. W. L. Ferguson of Ringgold.
He was later married to Miss Nannie J. Williams in 1888, who survives him with one son, C. Willard Dodson. He also leaves a brother, Charlie W. Dodson of Miami, FL.
