C.L. Sharpe Rites Held Monday at Antioch Church
Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. William J. Edwards, the Rev. S.M. Penn, and V.B. Taunton, at Antioch church Monday fro Charlie Lee Sharpe, 77, who died at his residence on Route Five, West Point, Sunday, September 26. He had been ill only three weeks.
Interment was at the Antioch cemetery, Johnson and Sanders in charge.
Pallbearers were Pate Earle, Frank Earle, Bryant Earle, Leonard Earle, Curtis Sorrell, Glen Sorrell, O.D. Sorrell, Lewis Sorrell.
Mr. Sharpe, a native of White Plains, Ala., had lived the most of his life in Chambers county. He was a member of the Christian church at Antioch. Besides his family and many relatives, he leaves a host of friends to mourn his passing.
His wife survives him, also two daughters, Mrs. Emma Jean McChang, Stroud, Ala., and Mrs. Dock Baird, Roanoke; three sons, Clifford, West Point, Route Five; Vernon, Shawmut; Glen, Five Points; three sisters, Mrs. Ruby Jackson, Fort Benning, Mrs. Aline Benton, Buffalo, Mrs. Irene Earle, Stroud; and one brother, Herschel Sharpe, Buffalo; 16 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Corrections: Sharpe should be Sharp, McChang should be McClurg, Glen should be Glenn, Aline should be Alleen & Herschel should be Hershal.
