At the home of the father of the bride, Mr. D. C. Sharp, Miss Alleene Sharp and Mr. B. B. Benton were united in marriage. Quite a number of friends of the conracting parties were present. Rev. J. T. Satterwhite pronounced the words that united them for life. The bride is a most charming young lady and has many friends who wish her well. The groom is a hustling farmer who deserves success. We wish them a long and happy life.

Barney Benton Of White Plains Passes - Barney Benton, age 86, lifelong resident of the White Plains community, passed away Saturday, April 21, following an illness of two months. Funeral services were held from the Penton Church of God on Sunday, April 22, at 3:00 p.m., with Rev. Alvin Young and Rev. Ernest Talley officiating. Interment was in Penton cemetery with Johnson & Sanders in charge of arrangements.
A member of Chapel Hill Methodist Church, Mr. Benton is survived by his wife, Mrs. Alleen Sharpe Benton, LaFayette Route 2; 3 daughters, Mrs. Cal Sharpe, Miss Novie Jane Benton, Miss Myrtis Benton, LaFayette Route 2; 3 sons, A. M. and N. P. Benton, Montgomery; J. P. Benton, Mt. Holly, N. C.; 6 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren.
Notes: The maiden name of Sharpe for the widow should be Sharp, no 'e'. The daughter, Mrs. Cal Sharpe, with the 'e', is correct.
