 This is the last Will and Testament of me William CHALCRAFT of Wheeler Street in the parish of Witley in the County of Surrey retired Farmer. I revoke all former Wills I give and bequeath unto Richard MELLERSH of Ashstead Farm Godalming in the said County of Surrey Farmer Edwin PUTTOCK of Dunsfold in the said County of Surrey Farmer and William JAMES of Fernhurst in the County of Sussex Farmer or to such of them as shall act as a trustee of this my Will the sum of one hundred pounds apiece for their care and trouble in carrying out the trusts hereinafter reposed in them
  I devise all that my freehold cottage and premises at Wheeler Street in the parish of Witley in the said County of Surrey in which I now reside unto and to the use of my housekeeper Sarah JAMES and to her heirs and assigns absolutely And I bequeath to the said Sarah JAMES all the household furniture plate linen china books and household effects of every description in and about my said dwelling house at Wheeler Street aforesaid
  I give and devise all and singular my copyhold lands tenements and hereditaments situate and being at Henley Common in the parish of Fernhurst in the County of Sussex unto and to the use of the said William JAMES of Fernhurst aforesaid his heirs and assigns for ever according to the custom of the Manor of which the same copyhold premises are helden
  And whereas under the Will of my deceased father Thomas CHALCRAFT my sister Jane the widow of Charles BOWLER late of Milford in the parish of Witley aforesaid deceased is entitled to an annuity of fifty pounds and which is charged upon some part of the hereditaments hereinbefore mentioned and devised for the purpose of securing such annuity and releasing the said hereditaments therefrom I have set apart the sum of one thousand six hundred and sixty six pounds thirteen shillings and four pence stock in the three pounds per cent dated bank annuities and the same is now standing in the books of the Governor and Company of the Bank of England in the names of myself Richard STEVENS Richard MELLERSH the elder (since deceased) and William
  I devise that the trustees or trustee of my Will hereafter named shall after the decease of the said Jane BOWLER stand possessed of the said sum of One Thousand six hundred and sixty six pounds thirteen shillings and four pence stock or such sum as shall for the time being represent the same and the annual income thereof upon trust for all and every the children and child of my cousin Thomas JAMES by any wife and the issue of any of them who shall have died leaving issue who being sons or a son shall attain or shall have attained the age of twenty one years or being daughters or a daughter shall attain or shall have attained that age or marry under it if more than one as tenants in common but so nevertheless that the issue of such of them as shall have died shall take the share only which his or her parent would have taken if living And if there shall be but one such child In trust for that child absolutely And if there shall be no child of the said Thomas JAMES who being a son shall attain or shall have attained the age of twenty one years or being daughters or a daughter shall attain or shall have attained that age or marry under it Then I devise the said sum of One thousand six hundred and sixty six pounds thirteen shillings and fourpence stock or such sum as shall for the time being represent the same and the annual income thereof shall sink into my general residuary personal estate
  I devise all those my farms and premises called Oakhurst Ashurst and Baldrudes and all other my real estate whether freehold copyhold or leasehold and bequeath all my personal estate whatsoever (except what I otherwise dispose of by this my Will) and ?? of the said Richard MELLERSH Edwin PUTTOCK and William JAMES their heirs executors and administrators respectively according to the nature and tenure thereof upon trust that the said Richard MELLERSH Edwin PUTTOCK and William JAMES or the survivors or survivor of them or the executors or administrators of such survivors (all which several persons and other the trustees for the time being of this my Will are hereinafter referred to as the said trustees or trustee) shall sell call in collect or otherwise convert into money such parts of the said trust premises as shall not consist of ready money and shall out of the monies to arise from such sale calling in collection and conversion and the ready money of which I shall be possessed at my death pay my funeral and testamentary expenses and debts and the legacies other than specific bequeathed by this my Will and shall stand possessed of the residue of the said trust monies upon the trusts following that is to say
  As to the sum of Six hundred pounds upon trust for William CHALCRAFT of Leigh Reigate in the said County of Surrey Miller son of my late cousin William CHALCRAFT and in the event of his death in my lifetime upon similar trusts for his children as are next hereinafter declared with respect to the sum of Six hundred pounds bequeathed to them And as to the said sum of Six hundred pounds in trust for such of the children of the said William CHALCRAFT living at my decease and such of the issue then living of any child or children of his now dead or who shall hereafter die in my lifetime as either before or after my decease being males or a male shall attain the age of twenty one years or being females or female shall attain that age or marry as tenants in common in a ??. of distribution according to the stocks the issue of deceased children of the said William CHALCRAFT taking by substitution as tenants in common the respective shares only which their respective parents would if living at my decease have taken
  As to the sum of One thousand and eight hundred pounds upon trust to the children and issue of my late cousin James CHALCRAFT deceased similar to the trust hereinbefore declared with respect to the sum of Six hundred pounds hereinbefore bequeathed to the children and issue of the said William CHALCRAFT
  As to the sum of One thousand eight hundred pounds upon trust for my cousin Thomas CHALCRAFT of Slindon in the County of Sussex and in the event of his death in my lifetime upon trust for his children and issue similar to the trust hereinbefore declared with respect to the bequest to the children and issue of the said William CHALCRAFT
  As to the sum of One thousand and eight hundred pounds Upon trust for Jane JAMES widow of my late cousin Edmund JAMES of Thursley in the said County of Surrey and in the event of her death in my lifetime in trust for the children and issue of the said Jane JAMES similar to the trust hereinbefore declared with respect to the children and issue of the said William CHALCRAFT
  As to the sum of three hundred and sixty pounds upon trust for David JAMES As to a further sum of three hundred and sixty pounds upon trust for the said Sarah JAMES As to a further sum of three hundred and sixty pounds upon trust for Hannah BOOKER As to a further sum of three hundred and sixty pounds upon trust for Elizabeth JAMES the four last named legatees being children of the late James JAMES formerly of Thursley aforesaid and Mary Ann his wife And as to the further sum of three hundred and sixty pounds upon trust for the three children of the late Jane KEEN another child of the said James JAMES and Mary Ann his wife in equal shares on their attaining the age of twenty one years or as to females on marrying and for the survivors or survivor of them in case one or more shall die before attaining such age of twenty one years or marrying as aforesaid
  As to the sum of Two hundred pounds upon trust for the children and issue of my late uncle John JAMES similar to the trust hereinbefore declared with respect to the children and issue of the said William CHALCRAFT
  As to the sum of Two hundred pounds upon trust for the children and issue of my late aunt Sarah LICKFOLD similar to the trust hereinbefore declared with respect to the children and issue of the said William CHALCRAFT
  As to the sum of Six hundred pounds upon trust to the children and issue of the late James PUTTOCK by his second wife (including the said Edwin PUTTOCK one of my said trustees) similar to the trust hereinbefore declared with respect to the children and issue of the said William CHALCRAFT
  As to the sum of Two hundred pounds upon trust for Sarah Ann BALCHIN wife of George Marlin BALCHIN and the daughter of the said James PUTTOCK by his first wife and in the event of her death in my lifetime Upon trust for the children and issue of the said Sarah Ann BALCHIN similar to the trust hereinbefore declared with respect to the children and issue of the said William CHALCRAFT
  And as to the sum of Two hundred pounds upon trust for Anna HOAR daughter of the late John HOAR formerly of Dunsfold Farmer and Shopkeeper And in the event of her death in my lifetime upon trust for the children and issue of the said Anna HOAR similar to the trust hereinbefore declared with respect to the children and issue of the said William CHALCRAFT
  And as to the residue (if any) of the said trust monies Upon trust for my said housekeeper the said Sarah JAMES.
  And I hereby declare that all powers given to trustees by any act or acts of parliament shall be applicable and applied to this my Will And lastly I nominate and appoint the said Richard MELLERSH Edwin PUTTOCK and William JAMES Executors of this my last Will In witness whereof I have to this end the three preceding sheets of paper set my hand this tenth day of March one thousand eight hundred and eighty seven

 On the 12th Feby 1890 Probate of this will was granted to Edwin PUTTOCK and William JAMES two of the executors.

  Be it known, that at the date hereunder written, the last Will and Testament Of William CHALCRAFT late of Wheeler Street in the parish of Witley in the County of Surrey retired Farmer deceased, who died on the 16th day of November 1889 at Wheeler Street aforesaid was proved and registered in the Principal Probate Registry of Her Majesty's High Court of Justice, and that Administration of the personal estate of the said deceased was granted by the aforesaid Court to Edwin PUTTOCK of Dunsfold in the said County Farmer and William JAMES of Fernhurst in the County of Sussex Farmer two of the executors named in the said Will - they having been first sworn well and faithfully to administer the same. Power reserved of making the like grant to Richard MELLERSH the other Executor named in the said Will
