Eliza (Mary) Blackwell, explaining some of the naming issues
  Mrs J Furniss mam is
15 Jenkin Rd going to write
 HORBURY, this weekend
 YORKSHIRE
  Dear Eliza
 Just a few lines hoping
you are feeling a lot better
and baby as well, I read your
 letter that you sent mar
so that is where I got your
 address from. I am pleased
you have got over it all
right, and that baby is alive,
 bothe mam and myself,
 think you have done very
well, to say how ill you
 have been, all the time
 but you wouldn't have
come off as well if you
 ---
 hadn't been going to the
 docters through the waiting
 time, but never minde now
that is all over now, but
 Eliza what ever in the
 name of wonder is making
 you call baby (Olive May)
 I couldn't think were you
 got the name from of
course she is your own baby
and you can do as you
 like about her but really
 I should have thought about
 another name off that one
 mam swears you are calling
 her after Olive Pennington
 ---
mam says you are not to take any
notice of Aunt Maggie and if she isn't any
differant next time, tell her straight out you
don't want her to come and see you at all.
 as she only upsets you.
 - - - -
and I know you have been
writing to her so I came
 to that conclusion as well
but don't you think you could
 have called her after your
own sister so you would have
 had something to reminde you
of us seeing we shall see so
little of her what would have
 sounded nicer that Celia -
 Blackwell? but anyway
I do want you to tell us
if you are calling her after
anyone at all, as Bert any
sisters of that name? of cause
I know his mother as been
 -----
very good to you and all that
but you don't want to let her
get the Idia that she is the
 only grannie, bothe mam and
 I have nearly shed tears
 because we can't see baby
 and don't know when we
ever shall, so you must forgive
this harsh letter but it is
 only because we are so
 dissapointed about baby's name
but don't let it upset you I
 promise you a differant letter
 next time but when you
do write do tell me who baby's
name is after I can't think of
anything else this last day or two
she will always be baby to me if
you let her keep that name but
never minde now but I shall
have to finish now, so buck
up and get well with lots of
 Love from Eileen & Joseph
