It also functioned as the 'farmhouse' for the dairy farm run from the Simpson's field. This stretched from Meadfield Road to the Grand Union Canal, on both sides of the railway line and bounded at the sides by Harvey Road and Market Lane. They also held some land to the immediate south of Meadfield Road.
