Note: [v45t3071.ged] From "Pottsville Evening Republican" - Tuesday, March 13,1934 DIED AT AGE OF 91 YEARS Mrs. Mary Matilda Zimmerman, one of the oldest and most highly respected residents of Schuylkill County, died Tuesday morning at the home of her son, George Zimmerman, 102 Parkway Street, Schuylkill Haven. She succumbed to apoplexy. The deceased lived to the ripe old age of 91 years. Her health was unimpaired up to a short time prior to her death, having had full possession of her faculties almost to the last. She was a daughter of the late Joseph Bretzius. Her remarkable length of years and varied experiences made her a most interesting and entertaining conversationalist. She was highly esteemed and beloved by people of the past two generations, particularly children. There survive these children: George Zimmerman of Schuylkill Haven; Joseph Zimmerman, of Lebanon; and Miss Mary Zimmerman who lives at home. She was a lifelong member of the Reformed Church at Schuylkill Haven. The Funeral will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock. The Rev. E.S. Noble, pastor of the Reformed Church, will officiate. Burial will be made in the Schuylkill Haven Union Cemetery. James M. Zerbe will be the funeral director.
