Daniel Zimmerman first appears in the Washington Township tax assessment records in 1860 when he is listed as a laborer. On January 1, 1863 his wife, Mary Matilda, bought two acre five perch lot from John B. Reed and his wife, Matilda. Daniel is assessed for this as "2 acres land and improvement" until 1887, when he is crossed off the assessment list marked "left" and his land marked "to Absalom Moyer". Matilda sold the lot to Moyer on April 21, 1887.
In the 1910 census for Schuylkill Have, I found (St. John's Street) Mary M. Zimmerman, head of household, 76 a widow, 6 children (5 living), native of PA., and owner of a home free of mortgage. Living with her was Mary A. Zimmerman, daughter, 41, single, a sleever at an underwear mill.
Now in Mary Matilda's obituary it mentioned that she died at the home of her son, George D. Zimmerman, 192 Parkway Street. George bought this property on May 19, 1919. He transferred it to a Edward Zimmerman, possibly a son, who transferred it back to him, along with his wife, Nora, on the same day. On December 11, 1950, Nora by then a widow sold it to James F. Zimmerman and his wife, Mary. They sold it on April 15, 1953. On January 31, 1955 James F. and Mary bought a property on Ave. C in Schuylkill Haven. Which is our James.
Daniel lived in the home that is marked in blue on the map until Matilda sold it to Moyer on April 21, 1887. The property has been owned since 1953 by Mary Esther Neidlinger.
