Note: {geni:about_me} William B. Palmer (1786-1865)and Humphrey Palmer emigrated to Centerville, Allegany Co., NY in about 1812. They each had several children. Some children from both families emigrated from Centerville, NY to Day Township, Montcalm County, MI after the Civil War in about 1865 Died from an accident caused by a team starting up quickly throwing him off from a load of hay breaking his spinal column. Feb 18, 1858. Humphrey and his wife Sarah Stacy (1791-1873) had the following children: Aurilla M. Palmer (1818-1862) Marcy Palmer (abt 1820-1848) John Stacy Palmer (1822-1847) Marcellus Palmer (1824-1915) Francis Palmer (1826-1915) Surintha Palmer (1829- ) Miranda Palmer (1832 - after 1880 Luke Palmer (1835 - ) Marcellus and Luke removed to Day Township, Montcalm Co., Michigan, and Francis went to Alma, Gratiot Co., Michigan. Some of William B. Palmer's children also removed to Montcalm Co., Michigan. Humphrey's wife, Sarah Stacy went with her son Luke to Montcalm Co., Michigan in her old age, where she died in 1873. Following from Guy Wood The Palmer’s and the Wood’s lived on farms not far from each other in Centerville , NY . Both families came to NY from Vermont at about the same time. Humphrey came to NY from Vermont in about 1816 when he purchased land from the Holland Land Co. His brother William B. Palmer also came to Centerville from Vermont . Several of Humphrey’s and William’s children later moved to Day Township , Michigan .
